Welcome to Legend of the strings.com. We offer guitar lessons & coaching, bass lessons and coaching in Mount Union, Huntingdon & State College.
This is not one of those online places. I'm actually living locally here in Huntingdon county.
Have you ever fantasized about being in a rock band and being able to play guitar and/or bass/drums?
Or are you struggling with your guitar or bass to make those sounds come out like on the recordings but just can't seem to get it right? Or better yet. Have you thought this has got to be easier to play? Those guys close there eyes on stage and play an amazing solo or jam. Why can't you close your eyes and do the same?
I remember when I was in school and had a lot of favorite bands and wanted to play just like them, so I went out and bought a guitar and amp. But then what? I did not even know how to tune it. I had to learn the hard way by trial and error for about a year, even after someone showed me how to read guitar tab. Shortly after that year I discovered there had to be something more to it because I still could not play those licks like my favorite bands did. No matter how much I played, it did not seem to get any easier. I started to think that maybe it was my tone or my gear. So after a few years and a bunch of gear just like my favorite artists, I realized it was not my gear or lack of practice. The hangup was that I did not understand technique or theory and how they relate to playing. This is the legend of the strings.
I'm here to tell you that you and any one with the right determination can find that sweet, sweet spot where your playing can take you and others away to a magic place of freedom and emotion. But there are quite a few tricks to it but most of it is time management and practice objectives. All leading up to what I call effortless playing. The point when you don't have to think so much about it and everything just flows. Taking guitar lessons and/or bass lessons can help you achieve just that. By practicing during your guitar & bass lessons and after ward, you can develop a routine that will build your skill level in a short period of time.
