What is Rock Band?Rock Band is about:
Within a classroom environment, kids have the opportunity to be heard and worked with one on one and / or in group settings developing musical skills that can be utilized throughout their lives. Rock Band politics and the nature of the beast/business are addressed from day one till graduation. This gives kids a running start at an art form that many find greatly fulfilling. Life skills are developed through the communication process of working with others and expressing ideas of less tangible nature then most and through the challenge growth is won. These problem solving skills are an important start at life as an adult because being able to work and compromise with others is demanded of most adults each day. |
FYI the last two songs where written, composed and recorded by the students.

Features of the class:
Program Preparation:
Classes are usually a result of private professional one on one lessons with students until their musical levels have achieved to a point where they can play songs. Lessons can be scheduled by parents and students alike in advance.
Results:
I have heard so many testimonies professing to how the class has changed the lives of these kids. Quiet little ones that where unheard and withdrawn learn to speak up and even walk a little taller. Older rebellious kids find something to focus their energy on and find pride in what they do.
A number of them have stated that the music has changed their attitude about school and how they look forward to getting back to school for the class.
Parents express how they are so proud of there kids and don’t we all want to make our folks proud. It’s one of those most gratifying feelings.
Synopsis:
With all of the challenges in life so many get lost in the day to day grunge that becomes an over worked life. Most would agree that having some balance between work and satisfying personal time is key in having a happy life.
It’s amazing to me how many do not have a hobby or something healthy to turn to for that balance and just as amazing how some of these kids that didn’t even know they had talent discover it and develop it.
A number of the students discover they can take multiple instruments after a short time. Drums, bass guitar, key’s, vocals and the list doesn’t stop there. Some play cello as well as wind instruments.
At CLC what started out as one class quickly turned into a amazing phenomenon. With in 11 weeks Rock Band became the most popular class in the school. More than 70% electively attends the classes. Quickly the class grew from one two hour class to three days of two one our class and we keep getting more demands.
